Watching things with Dad is so frustrating...
He either doesn’t fully pay attention or doesn’t hear everything or something, I don’t know, but he’s constantly asking about things that just happened, or wanting me to explain why something happened when the point is to, you know, watch and find out?
He also repeats jokes to me. Like, a character will say something funny and he’ll turn to me and, laughing, repeat...

SO HEY I SAW A TORNADO UP CLOSE
I pull up to my friends’ place to tornado sirens going off. I thought it was a drill until I turned around and saw a funnel cloud. I ran inside to tell them and like the intelligent 20-somethings we are, we all booked it outside to watch it.
It was small and not moving too fast, so there was no real danger, but it was SO FUCKING COOL.
Lay down to sleep, get attacked by anxiety
Same thing happened when I tried to nap today, just laid worrying and anxious about all this different stuff for a couple hours until I gave up.
Everything’s putting me on edge and work is just making everything ten times worse and I just want to hide somewhere. Ugh.

It’s funny to think what a different point of my life I was at when I first watched this movie and heard this commentary, because I remember being so resolute about the fact that Frodo and Sam were just friends and so uncomfortable with the idea that someone was trying to make a subtext obvious.
